etrailer SD Non-Binding Tow Bar Review - 2022 Ford F-550 Cab And Chassis- Video
Hey, everyone, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2022 Ford F-550 Cabin Chassis Motorhome, we're gonna be checking out the etrailer.com SD tow bar. Right off the bat, these etrailer SD tow bars are gonna be available in several different configurations and really the only difference is going to be what type of adapter end comes with it. So the one that we have here today is going to work with Blue Ox base plates, as well as Curt base plates. And if you happen to have a different brand of base plate, whether it be a Roadmaster or another one, chances are really good that the SD is gonna be available with that adapter and allow you to pair them two together. With that said though, when it comes to picking out a tow bar, it's a pretty important decision 'cause it's gonna be responsible for a lot of the work. more

Now there's five main components required for flat towing your Equinox down the road, and we'll start on the vehicle side and that's gonna start with the base plate. Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at the Blue Ox Alpha 2 tow bar on a 2024 Ford E450 motor home. Now there's five main components required when flat towing a vehicle and starting on the vehicle side the first thing is gonna be the base plate and that's gonna attach to the frame of the vehicle or a structural part of the vehicle that's gonna allow you to attach the rest of the components and safely tow it down the road. Now connected to the arms on our base plate is gonna be our tow bar and this is the connection point between the hitch on the RV and the towed vehicle. On our base plate we also have these loops for safety chains which is gonna be one of the components. So in case of a disconnect you still have those chains holding onto the towed vehicle. We also have a supplemental braking system which is gonna slow and stop the vehicle while going down the road as you apply the brakes on the RV. more

Blue Ox Avail Tow Bar Installation - 2018 Ford F-350 Cab and Chassis- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at the Blue Ox Avail Tow Bar on our Ford 350 Motor Home. The Avail is definitely a tow bar that stands out when it comes to capacity. This is a pretty heavy-duty tow bar, and its max capacity is gonna be 10,000 pounds, which is more than enough for our Wrangler, but if you ever plan on moving up to a larger tow vehicle down the road, this will be able to handle that. So that's really nice peace of mind, and having that rating, especially with the Wrangler, you don't ever have to worry about this failing. Now, some of the features that it has that I really, really like and recommend to everyone is going to be the non-binding style. So some of your older tow bars, once you're in this locked position after towing, it is really hard to get these to separate and draw your arms back, and you really have to make sure that it's on perfectly flat level ground to be able to do that, but that's not the case here because ours is non-binding and you can see that it's locked here, I just simply push this down, and this is gonna allow us to draw that arm back nice and easy, even if you are on unlevel surfaces. more

So for a Ranger, it's not gonna be an issue at all, but this means that you could also eventually move to a larger vehicle later on with a flat towed vehicle and not really have to worry about overloading this tow bar. So with those numbers, there's very few vehicles that are able to be flat towed at that same size. more

Roadmaster Nighthawk Tow Bar Installation - 2019 Ford Fiesta- Video
Hello, neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today, we're taking a look at the Roadmaster Nighthawk Tow Bar on a 2019 Ford Fiesta. The Nighthawk is definitely one of the more premier tow bars out there on the market, and for a good reason, there's quite a few things that make this one stand out from some of the others on the market. And the first and I guess more well known feature of the Nighthawk is going to be the LED strip that you have here. And that way, when it's nighttime and you have your running lights on, these will illuminate. Because the headlights aren't on the towed vehicle, sometimes people may not notice that there's a car right there and them they'll merge over. Having these LEDs are a good indicator to let people know that there's something attached, and I can always spot these across the highway at night, because of those lights. more

Hi there, motor home owners! Today on your 2022 E-450 series Chassis motor homes, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install etrailer's XHD tow bar. And this is what our etrailer XHD tow bar looks like. We can see here that it does have a tiltable head with an adjustment on it for drop and rise. And that's kind of the main feature of this tow bar here. A lot of setups will require a drop or rise to even out the distance between your receiver here on your motor home and your connection point on your base plate. Hey everybody. How is it going Today, we're gonna be going over the Blue Ox alpha two tow bar here on a 2018 Ford F-150. So the tow bar is just one of the many components that we'll need to successfully flat tow our vehicle. A list of the other components are gonna be safety cables if our tow bar doesn't come with them, thankfully, this one does. We'll need a baseplate kit for the vehicle. We'll need a wiring harness to activate the lights, and we'll also need a braking system in most states. more

Hi there, Ford owners. Today on your 2019 Ford F-53 chassis motor home, We're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install Roadmasters Falcon 2 tow bar. And this is what our tow bar looks like when it's installed. This is going to be an entry-level tow bar from Roadmaster, but it's gonna be able to get the job done with a towing capacity of 6,000 pounds. That should be more than enough for just about any smaller SUV or car that you're gonna wanna hook up to it. Now, if you happen to have a truck like an F-250 or something that is larger with a higher weight capacity, then I would recommend upgrading to a higher weight capacity tow bar, such as Roadmaster's Nighthawk with an 8,000 pound capacity. more

Hi there, motorhome owners. Today, on your 2021 Ford F-53 chassis motorhome, we'll be taking a look at and showing you how to install Roadmaster's Nighthawk tow bar. These are available in two options, depending on the base plate you have. If you have a Roadmaster base plate, you'll wanna get the regular Roadmaster option that will connect directly to a direct connect Roadmaster base plate. If you have a Blue Ox base plate, then I would recommend getting the Blue Ox version, which is gonna have all the same features but it's gonna have the Blue Ox ends on there, so it'll connect directly to your Blue Ox base plate. And it's probably my top pick, especially if you're gonna be going with a direct connect solution. more

So there's going to be a total of five main components needed to flat tow your Jeep down the road behind your motor home. And there is one other thing that I do highly recommend picking up. It isn't absolutely necessary, but it's definitely beneficial, and that would be a battery charger, or a battery charge line. more

Hey, everybody. How's it going Today, we're gonna be going over and showing you how to set up the Blue Ox Alpha 2 Tow Bar here on a 2021 Ford Escape. So a tow bar is gonna be the physical connection between the motorhome and the towed vehicle. This is what the Alpha 2 looks like while it's set up. As you can see, all of our components have a nice black powder-coated finish. This is gonna help it blend in well, and it's also gonna help protect the tow bar from rust and corrosion, being that it is sorta down low behind the RV, where we're gonna get a lot of dirt and debris kicking up. more
